Verbal offer - when to chase?

I had an interview last Monday. On Thursday I had a call from the internal recruiter that the hiring manager would like to make an offer and that they will need to speed to corporate HQ to put a package and official offer together.

How long does this usually take at a large (3k employees) company?

  • Impossible to say really. I would give the recruiter a call if you have't heard anything by Thursday, and ask them. Dealing with this sort of thing is, after all, their job...it's not like you are taking them away from their work or bothering them.

You may as well be asking how long is a piece of string?

I would wait until this time next week, ie Monday 5th March before even giving it a 2nd thought.
