Grant to replace boiler - how does it work?

I've just fired off a couple of messages to boiler installers and they're not interested in getting involved in a grant scheme installment as they say it takes 6+ months for them to get paid.
Does the payment have to be made to the boiler installer of can the householder pay it then have the grant paid to them instead (assuming they've been "approved" for the grand first)?

Funding available
There is no limit to the amount of money available for each energy efficiency measure, there is only the grant maximum per property. The technical inspection carried out by NIHE at each property will determine the best energy efficiency solution depending on the specific requirements of the dwelling. The maximum grant offered will be £7,500 or, if solid wall insulation is to be installed, then the grant limit will increase to £10,000.

Its not that scheme, its this scheme

It seems you can pay the fitter directly (once you've had the grant award confirmed) and then have it paid to yourself.
Its for my folks - they're both in their 70s and they've a really ancient old inefficient boiler and no heating controls0 -

Looking at the forms it does appear that you can pay the installer and put your bacs details down for the claim.0 -
