Correcting self assessment returns

Hello
I have noticed some omissions in my tax returns that neither result in me owing more tax or me being owed tax, e.g. a small amount of unreported bank interest and some dividend payments.
How far back should i make the corrections if no tax is owed? I phoned hmrc but they wouldnt really give me a straight answer. What is a reasonable amount of time to go back? 2 years? 5? 8?
The earliest i have missing information is from 2010, but as i say it makes no difference to my tax due.

If you submit your Returns online you can amend 2016/17 online now. For any other years you would need to write to HMRC.

If it was me, as long as I was convinced there is no further tax due and no repayment to claim, I definitely wouldn't write and would only amend online if I happened to be online doing something else in SA. Taxmen have a habit of wondering if you have made one mistake have you made any others?0
