Large made to measure curtains

Hi
We are trying to replace out sitting room curtains but they are quite large with a drop of 2.5 metres. This seems to be a bit large for ready made and some of the made to measure people can't supply them, or some we have asked are hugely expensive.
We are in north Birmingham, does anybody know of somebody who can make up the curtains, if we supply the material, for a reasonable price?

Do you have an adult education college near you/any adult education classes? If so, check if they offer a soft furnishing course - and if they do, contact the tutor and ask if they or any of their students could help, either by making the curtains for a mutually agreed fee, or by recommending someone who could.

Have you tried Dunelm? I had some made by them recently and was pleasantly surprised with both the price and the quality of workmanship. I have to admit I'd avoided them in the past as I wasn't very impressed by their ready made curtains on display but their made to measure are much better.

Check on Yell.com for local curtain makers. Do ask to see some of their work though before handing over your fabric.

Perhaps ask in one of the fabric shops for recommendations?
