Unpaid holiday time

Hi. My employment was terminated under a week ago, and now on pay day (monthly)
the company has not paid me for the holiday week i booked and had off the week before i was dismissed. Is this legal?

I have not received a payslip in the post, just some wages deposited in my account, so i cant tell exactly what i have been paid for, but it looks like they have only paid me for 2 weeks, and withheld the 3rd week i was on authorised holiday, and the 4th week i was sacked.

I still have the holiday request slip with the dates requested and the managers signature on it if it helps.

Are they within their rights to withhold this money, or if not, what can i do about it?

Thank you.

Is 17 days your standard annual allowance? As you may only have 'earned' part of that by only working January and a bit of February e.g. where I work, you'd only earn 1/12 of the annual allowance. So you might find they have paid you for 1 or 1.5 days and the rest was unpaid leave.
