Yeah mate that's about it. A BRO is obtained through the courts, a BRU is if you were to accept the length before it goes to court. Its just the standard restrictions like having to tell someone you're under a bankrupt restrictions order if borrowing £500 or more, as well not being able to run a company as a director.

lol, it didn't take long....I have received in the post this morning a letter from a "BR specialist law firm" offering me assistance with my BR as they got my details from the London Gazette but they don't say how much they will charge me for their services. I have got to laugh about it they are vultures isn't it bad enough when your in this position apart from the clever 1s in society who enjoy doing this. I feel at rock bottom which I'm sure an awful lot of folk are when they genuinely have to go down this route....
sorry rant over. the firm is called Isadore Goldman has anyone else had dealings with these. Just curious

It's nothing to worry about, it's actually pretty straightforward. Good luck though.

If it's anything like mine, it's more of a weight off your shoulders.

    Hope it went well.

Thanks for the kind words of support folks and yes it went ok and the worst part about it is explaining the amounts on credit cards suddenly get bigger so he assumed they were purchases, not balance transfers.
But on the whole, it went better than expected as my way of thinking now is expect the worst and anything better is a bonus.

I've just found my BR notice in the London Gazette and printed it off and going to frame it and put it up and when I feel a bit silly with money in the future I'm going to look at it.

An update on my journey for the ones that have been helping me, my other thread which was solely about challenging the IPA, http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?p=74011367&posted=1#post74011367, I managed yesterday to challenge the examiner who had previously set my IPA as £24 per month over 36 months, I now do not have one to pay!

Just waiting for it in writing to confirm, but was only on the phone for 15 minutes, so I'm still pretty surprised.
