Car on Pcp unfixable

Hi all,
Just trying to find out where I stand.
I have a mini countryman on PCP, last week it started making a strange noise so took it to the garage, they found the alternator belt needed replacing so they did that but then the car wouldn't start at all. They have been trying to find out what is wrong with it but had no luck, they said they are checking the engine jets and if that doesn't work the car is condemned.
I haven't finished paying my finance and still have till the end of the year until I've paid it off. What do I do? Do I have to carry on paying for the car if its written off? Can I get another car on pcp? Just really unsure as what I am going to do if the car is dead.
Thanks in advance
Suzie

Did you take it to a BMW garage, or the backstreet boys?I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0

I thought free maintenance agreements were in place for pcp cars as they are a leased car ? or are there different types of pcp agreements0

In addition to Shakin Steve's question
How old is the car, petrol or diesel, any warranty left, mileage, does the engine turn over? etc
For the moment I would concentrate on trying to sort the car0 -

If you mean a service plan, that could have been purchased at the same time but that won't cover a car that is outside of warranty.
There isn't enough detail from the OP to offer any advice. In the end though, the finance is separate from the car and if it was unrepairable then the finance would still need to be paid off.0 -
How long ago did you get the car and take out the agreement? Have you discussed the issues with the owner of the vehicle yet? (i.e. the finance company).0

You still have to keep paying the finance on the car. If you've not taken it to a BMW garage I suggest you do because I find the comments you say the garage made quite strange. You don't just condemn a car because it won't start especially one 3-4 years old.
Whilst you could get another car on PCP you're going to have to settle the PCP on this one and with a car that doesn't work you're going to have to find the money.
Depending on how much money you have and the outcome of proper diagnostics at a main dealer you may have to end up getting a cheap runaround. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
The car is 7 years old, finance ends in September and it is no longer under warranty. Took it to coastal minis which is not a BMW garage but does specialise in minis. It is a diesel, the engine isn't turning over. They have sent it to a diesel engine specialist who is going to take a look at it on Monday. Haven't rung the financiers yet, would like to have an idea of what is actually wrong with the car before I do0
