I think that answer's wrong as the question asks who played Kate in the 2017 version. As far as I recall, and I did watch it, there's no character called Kate in that version. Kate in the 1990 version seems to have been a renaming of the character Offred, and she was played by Elisabeth Moss in the recent adaptation.'...luck came to those who left a space for it.' Offred is named June in the TV Show.. In the book there is no specific reference to Offred being called anything. In 1990 Natasha Richardson played Offred but they re-named her Kate. So the 2017 version of Kate would be June = Elisabeth Moss.
Maybe the promoters aren't up on their Handmaids Tale knowledge! I'm slightly obsessed!0
