    You diagnose a tooth that needs root treatment often by looking for holes in the bone under the tooth. They heal.


    Cysts normally take many years to form sometimes decades as they are slow growing , they do not shrink in size but continue to grow and look very different on x rays and often look very different in the mouth. You would have been told if it was a cyst .
