I've just started year 4 of a 5 year fix @ 2.99% - not great now but was pretty good at the time and we needed the certainty. I noticed cheaper fixes available now, but with a £3.5k erc i don't think it'll be worth it.
Are there any lenders that let you reserve your rate pretty far in advance? Current lender said the furthest in advance they'd do is 4 months before. Going to be a bit gutted if we miss out on a great rate for sake of 8 months
Balance of approx £72k with a LTV if that makes a difference, 11 years to go!

With such a small balance it!!!8217;s not going to be worth moving it now. 3-4 months is about standard to be able to reserve in advance.
What does your current lender have in terms of retention deals? They may be your best bet as you wouldn!!!8217;t have to pay anything to switch.0 -
Thanks for your reply. Current lender has new deals at 1.95% but said I can't reserve anything until 4 months before my current deal ends. I realise its not worth the early repayment charges to leave just now.
Balance wasn't always this small ;-) hoping to get the balance gone in maximum of 6 years. Then go on brilliant holidays every year :-D0
