Discharged bankrupt

Options
Hi do mortgage lenders go from the date of the bankruptcy order or the date of discharge? I’m getting confused with if Its best to apply after 5/6 years from the order of discharge date!

Thanks

In the main, 6 years from discharge, there is one at 4 years discharged, a handful or so at 3 years discharged and a couple of full on adverse (high rates) with 1 years discharged.

The is also 2 lenders (I am aware of) who says 6 years from date of registration rather than discharge - just amended this to 2 as completely forgot about another.

There are also a couple who do not accept ex bankrupts at all.

  • I friend of mine has recently been discharged from bankruptcy only 1 month ago. Apart from Magallen Homes is there any other lender who would consider lending to someone who is discharged 1 year? Seems the market is very much against ex bankrupts even with 40/50% deposits!

Only 1 other, but you can only access those deals through a handful of brokers.
