Hello, I am teaching language in a primary school and used to charge the school a rate per hour or lesson while I am self employed. I pay taxes and N.I.
I am now requested to be under the IR35 scheme and be on PAYE . The school wants to pay me a ridiculous amount per hour for only the hours I m teaching meaning that I will loose approximately half of my income considering that I teach 4 hours per week.
What can I do if I don't want to resign and find myself with bills and mortgages unable to be paid?
How much does an umbrella company charges? I talke to the council and they said that I cannot create a company and be salaried from it.
Any advice?
