I am a former homeowner from my last marriage. We had debts that were secured against the house and when i left the house she sold the house and told me that all debts were sorted. I have since found that i have existing debts from this that were not taken care of. I am now looking to get a mortgage in my new marriage and i am now concerned i will not get a mortage due to this outstanding issue, how could i handle any potential mortgage application?

You need to see a copy of your credit file to understand how it looks and then speak to an adverse credit broker0

What were the circumstances of the sale? Why weren't you involved. As joint owner you were party to the transaction.0 -
As ashe says, your credit reports should give you a better understanding of where everything is and you can go from there - probably through a broker.

She broke the joint ownership via her solicitor and forced the sale due to keeping our 2 children in a house and sold out to a housing association, i was guilt tripped into selling and assured then that it was all sorted, now several years later, i find its clearly not....0
