Train delay caused knock on effect to connections

Hi all,
Three weeks ago my wife had to rush down to her Mum's - Wigan to Fratton (Portsmouth). We bought the ticket at the station - just one ticket for three separate operators (Virgin West Coast, Cross Country and South Western).
The Virgin train was delayed by about 20 minutes but this had a knock-on effect with the two connections and she arrived over an hour late.
Can I reclaim for the delay? If so, who or how? I've been onto Virgin's Delay Reclaim site and (reasonably) they want the destination station but (just as reasonably) they only have stations they call at.
TIA,
Paul

Yes, you claim from Virgin as it was their train that caused the delay.
The virgin repay delay site only lets you enter Virgin stations but if you enter the stations for the Wigan to Euston leg and tick the box about missing a connection it'll allow you to enter the total delay time for your whole journey.0 -
Do as straggelbod suggests, I had pretty much the same issue and asked Virgin about it, and they confirmed that entering Virgin stations as the start and end points along with ticking the 'was there a subsequent delay' box should do the trick - although I haven't had my repayment yet, so I'm not guaranteeing it'll work!0
