What do I do with it do I plant it somewhere/somehow, or do i cut the roots off, I'm sorry to sound so stupid.

Thanks for any help.

Hi Queenpig....don't worry, it's just sold like that because it will last longer, that's all.

Stick it somewhere light but cool (not the fridge though!) and just break off what you want to eat, as and when you want it. If it's a good one and lasts for a few days, I usually chuck a bit of water on it to help it along!

    cheers

They do sell growing salad sometimes, I presume it's in a pot?
Put it on your windowsill on a saucer and just pick leaves as you need them. I like this as I'm often the only one who's gonna eat salad so it's better to be able to pick just what you need from the garden or whatever.
Just call me Nodwah the thread killer
  • I don't want to be rude, but are you sure it's lettuce? Could it be watercress or corn salad also called lamb's lettuce?

Just trying to think of green salad stuff that often has roots on
    Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac ;)
