Please help I have just been offered a job with nhs after being out of work for 4 years after a accident at work & struggled to find work. The problem I have is the want 3 job references for the last 3 years which I don’t have. It did say in the email if you can’t probide them
Please put why in a personal statement.
I am so scared that I am not going to get this job now I just don’t know what to do can I get personal references?
I can get one refresh from the employer I had a accident with cause even though they ended my contract I got on really well with my line manager but I am worried about going down that route as I did take them to court & won because I wasn’t trained on the equipment.
I really really want this job to be a role model to my young children and earn my own money.
Please can someone help !!!128522;

You've answered your own question - you don't have references for the last 3 years so you need to explain why in your personal statement. The reason you've given on here for that seems perfectly valid and they must know you haven't worked in that period so it won't come as a surprise.0

You haven't worked for 4 years for the reasons you have given. You need to explain that in the 'personal statement' they have states is an option if you can't provide work references. Also put on the statement that your manager from the previous job is willing to provide a reference.0

They know you didn't work over the period and offered you the job anyway, so don't worry too much, they won't be expecting references from employers. I'd ring the person doing the hiring and see what they say.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0

Agree with this. As always honesty is the best policy, just explain what really happened but that you are ready and eager to start work again and that you can provide a reference from your last job and some personal references too if they want ( I presume you can get a couple of personal references?)

Don't really understand your dilemma. Your prospective employer has told you what to do. Why not do it? Failure to follow a simple instruction is not going to look good for your future employment, is it?
Suggest you write the personal statement and give what references you can provide for the period you were employed. If they ask for personal references, provide those.0 -
Just tell them the truth.
Do they not already know you haven't worked for four years? Isn't that clear from your NHS Jobs application?
Out of interest (I used to work in the NHS) what sort of role have you applied for?0
