Hello there Myself and my husband are emigrating to South Australia in the new year. We are both Paramedics with the Scottish Ambulance Service and have pensions with them. My husband will be working in Oz as a Paramedic but they cannot accept our pension transfer. We are wondering if anyone has any experience of this. If…

99% true - there are a few loopholes than can occasionally be used to transfer UK plans to the US (has to do with if they are under contribution limits I think...)

Would totally agree about the specialist advice though

I have worked for 5 years as a Pension Administrator and then a further year in a non-administrator pension role. I am not (and never have been) an adviser. Do not take anything I say as advice, it is information given on the best of my knowledge.
