Hi
I live in a flat and my lease is currently 68 years so i need this changed. My solicitor said I need to contact the freeholder myself and negotiate a lease and price but i know nothing about this? how do i know which lease to get ? do I organise and pay for a survey? I'm told i can change the lease to 99 years with no survey or add 90 years to the 68 with a survey? there are free advice sites but they are so confusing ?
I thought the solicitor would give me the lease options and help me with everything otherwise what am i actually paying them to do?
I feel like selling up :-(
