Want to be a famous UK Model? What should I do?

Options
Hey guys, I'm looking for a way to break into modelling and become a successful model. What should I do to make it work? From my understanding I have "What it takes" but since applying to many modelling agencies in the UK I have heard nothing back from them?
Am I missing a trick here?

I'm desperate and want to get at-least assessed.

Thanks for any advice. :(

Im sure youre lovely, but if multiple modelling agencies arent interested there is a reason.
  • I think this subject has been discussed from top to bottom. Do a search and maybe you will find threads about it. But I have done a little bit of modelling and I can shed some light on the subject.

    - First of all its super competitive. Don't even think about getting into modelling unless you have a good strong attitude towards failures and working hard. I can't stress this enough.

    - Look at yourself in the mirror. Don't let your grandma or mum tell you that you're a model material. Cause chances are you're not, Commercial modelling has strict requirements.

    - Invest in a portfolio. People will tell you otherwise but take my advice. It's important to have a good portfolio. It's not that cheap at the start but its a good long-term investment. There are many companies in the UK which can help you with this kind of thing. Storm models, Models1, Models, UK Models, Castingnow, Elitemodel, Backstage.

    - Apply to modelling agencies directly. But chances are very low. Cause loads of people will be applying.

    - Don't give up. You will get a lot of NO's but don't give up hope. Work hard.

    - If you don't have money for a portfolio consider TFP. But you won't own copyrights to your images. Tomorrow you could become a big model but the photographer will own the images and can sell it without your consent. So it comes with some negatives.

    - Good luck.

Sorry but it's this. Modelling agencies make money by hiring / contracting models.

If they aren't interested it's because you're not model material.

That said, 99.999999% of the population aren't, so don't take it personally.

Other than your mum, who has told you you have "what it takes"?

Ultimately agencies will want you on their books and blow whatever smoke up your !!! they need to to do that, but the litmus test is whether or not that translates to actual work - and unfortunately it hasnt.

Did you include any photos when you contacted the agencies ?

  • What height are you and what are your measurements?
  • Maybe the fact your title says you want to be a FAMOUS UK Model and not Successful Model has something to do with it.

As others have said it's a very populated and hard market to enter because there is 10,000's of people trying to do the same for the same reasons and unless you have a one of a kind package you wont be like the 1% who succeed.

By all means try all you can but if you continue to hear nothing back maybe there's an alternative route or sector you can try.
