Im glad you asked this, because come around November time last year, I came accross the Parkin cake recipe, and indeed I used Oatmeal, but I mistaken it for porridge oats. Morrisons sell oatmeal, but it's in the baking aisle, not with the cereals. I bought two packets this week for parkin and I had to ask! It's 53p for 500g packet which makes two lots of parkin.
