Credit Check for Contracting Job

Hi there,

I am in the process of applying for a contracting job at Huntswood but I previously have had a few defaults on credit and entered into debt management plans at an age when I was very young, however it is still affecting my credit score.

I was wondering if anybody had any experience in getting a job at huntswood or similar contracting agency who also had bad credit? Or if this definitely excludes me?

Is there a minimum score for somebody they will employ etc? Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

  • There is no minimum or maximum score for anything. The score is made up, not seen or used by anyone and can be ignored.

If they are running credit checks, they will be looking for things like CCJs.
  • Thanks for getting back to me. Huntswood are carrying the check as the work will be for Lloyds bank. I don’t have any CCJ’s just defaults and some late payments etc, do you think I have a good chance of passing the screening? Any advice would be appreciated.

I would say you have a 73% chance of passing.
  • Haha I hope so but I know that was meant in a sarcastic way :) I know it may seem like a stupid question but the point of this was to see if anybody in a similar situation to me had been successful.

Yep, I know someone with much worse, who once made an early declaration to an agency when it involved this bank group as a processing job on a 6 months FTC -

It was 2013 time though really early on at application stage when asked about CCJs. And I!!!8217;m not confident whether it was the agency or organisations decision - thats where it became murky imo.

Just answer any questions they ask.
  • If it's Lloyds for the complaints contracting then this is completely normal. They follow this up with an annual check too.

Side tip if you are going to be a daily rate contractor setup your own LTD company & Don't use theirs!

Not so much sarcastic as just plucking a number from the air. Which is all anyone will do.
