charged 1% more because I'm female

Options
Hi
In the 80's I had a mortgage with National Provincial BS and was charged 1% extra because I was a female. When I switched to Nat West Bank it was the same. Was this legal? Can I claim it back at all?

Do you have something which evidences this?

I've been active in the mortgage market since 1984 and I don't remember seeing anything like this. I even remember N&P's white bee-covered marketing material from the 80s after the Burnley merger spawned the N&P.

NatWest? Again, I don't recall seeing anything like you have suggested...

Prove it, and why has it taken 30 years for you to come up with this query?

I was doing mortgages back in the 80s and don't recall any pricing based on gender.
