Am I entitled to holiday pay

For the past 4 1/2 years I have worked at a beauty salon part time. When I started the job it was for 4 days (23 hours) a week & I only worked term time, so had all the school holidays off, unpaid. I have never ever had a contract. Just recently my boss has started to take a lot of time off when technically I should be working, so even more unpaid time off. I have just started to think, am I entitled to some of my holidays to be paid?? Any advice would be greatly received.

What are your terms of employment? - who sets your hours, who pays you, who pays your tax?0
-
Basically I don!!!8217;t have a contract so no terms of employment. I get paid weekly by the salon owner, I don!!!8217;t earn enough to pay tax but pay my national insurance contributions.0

Do you pay the NI yourself, or does the salon owner pay them on your behalf? Who decides your hours?0
-
Yes I get stopped national insurance contributions out of my wages. My boss sets the hours, they are the same every week.0

you are due 5.6weeks per year
what that means for you will depend on your work patterns and hours.
you will also need to establish a holiday year which in the absence of anything documented(verbally or in writing) will be year based on your start date.0 -
Do you get a pay slip?0

Not very often no! My boss’ husband is an accountant & occasionally he’ll email me a payslip but not for a long time. I get paid weekly0
