Clydesdale Mortgage Process/Questions

Dear all,

Long time reader, first time poster.

We are selling our flat and buying a house.

My husband and I have applied for a mortgage with Clydesdale via a broker. My husband is in full time perm employment and I am on a Fixed Term Contract paid via my companies payroll and receive benefits. My contract was a year from April 17 to 18 but extended in Jan to Oct 18.

Our broker said he had conversations with a case manager and underwriter and they'd take our application thus, CB were chosen.

23rd Jan Full Application
25th Jan Valuation instructed
29th Jan Valuation completed
31st Jan Valuation accepted by CB and broker said they are willing to lend at the requested amount
7th Feb Broker requested declaration and direct debit mandate to be signed and a copy of my employment contract (requested by CB)
12th Feb husband hard credit search but nothing on my file
14th Feb CB requested details of my employment history and my last two year p60's

I am worried that my employment situation is going to have an impact, does anything have any experience with CB?

CB will not speak to me directly and my broker is very slow at getting back to me. is it possible to find out who my case manager is at the Bank?

Thank you.

Clydesdale are very picky and very slow but the valuation is usually where they fall down so if you're past this point I wouldn't worry too much.

Thank you, but I read that when applying via a Broker to Clydesdale, the valuation is the first part of the process.

Still waiting for an update :(

My broker is rubbish at coming back to us and we feel very much in the dark.

I read that CB broker applications typically: Valuation>Underwriting>Credit Check>Offer. Where as our credit files show the hard credit checks on the 12th, then they requested the P60's.

Well, for us, Clydesdale came through.

We were 6 weeks from application to offer and we moved in this week.

Sounds like they are working through your application. With CB everything is manual, my offer when had a hand stamp on it from the underwriter.

Other than being very slow, we had no problems - just hold out is the best advice.

Hello we are also dealing with Clydesdale via a broker. We received a text message on 26/4 staying out offer was accepted. Can anyone tell me how long it took to receive the offer in the post? We were told 48 hours- sellers solicitor wants documents by Thursday so hoping before then.

I submitted application through broker who took all documentation before the alllication submitted (Friday 27th April) I already knew it was going straight to underwriter as the broker had liased whether they will accept a five year default - which they have stated in paperwork they will. Broker today said income has been signed off as fine when I asked about affordability checks. The valuation is tomorrow . Does anybody know any other checks that will still happen re my docs , debt etc? They!!!8217;ve had everything off me and my broker picked it apart and asked questions last week to ensure all things were covered. I signed direct debit form and declaration on Friday evening. Should I expect a text message or phone call ?

They will credit check you again or at least they did with us just after valuation. We were told on they day of valuation (18/4) subject to it being satisfactory mortgage was approved. We were sent the report (23/4)and a few days later were sent a text by our broker confirming the official offer (this was 27/4) We are still waiting on the document being sent to all parties it was only Friday however we are due to close the sale on Thursday and move the following Friday. One thing I would say is text every few days for up dates. Good luck

Thanks for the info, I assume they completed the underwriting process first in your case as opposed to what every other thread says on here that valuation is done first? I know that underwriting has taken place for us just not sure on how far along it is.
