So close to the weekend
That's a rather apt emoji as my dad has just text and said he is visiting this weekend (he lives 100ish miles away) and will be at the pub if I would like to join him and my uncles when I finish work. I will pop in for one because a) it won't cost me as they like to treat me to one or two where I don't see them much b) I have naff all else planned and c) the walk to and from the pub will take me over my daily steps :rotfl:
Opened a Tesc0 internet saver today which will be used for my EF instead of the PO saver as it seems from people's comments that it functions a lot better and is easier to use.
Need to call the dentist on Monday - due my 6 monthly checkup at the end of this month and I have the week from the 26th off work so perfect time to go really. I also need to ask about seeing the hygienist - I was supposed to go 3 months ago (& 3 months after my first checkup in years due to fear of the dentist) but that was the end of December and quite frankly I just did not have the extra £40 floating around at that time of year to go (which will never happen again now I will start having savings pots).
I'm hoping I can wing it a bit that I thought I had to see both 6 months after, I'm not overly worried about going to see her as I know my teeth are much better than the first time I went to see her, but my front teeth are rather sensitive at the moment so I'm a bit concerned about all the cold water that will be in my mouth - although I suppose if they are doing a good job it won't really go onto my front teeth unless they are actively doing those.
I'm equally hoping she removes a bit of grey along the bottom of one of my teeth that was definitely left there after I saw her last time - she had a lot to take away (naughty me) but I noticed this bit the day after I went, so no way I acquired some that quickly - part of me is convinced it was left there on purposely so she can tell if it spreads I'm not doing a great job of cleaning them :rotfl: fortunately it has not as I try my best to floss most nights and keep them clean
still - £60 ish! Not so bad if you can put £10 a month aside (as planned) I guess. I would really ultimately like to have some Invisalign braces but that will wait until I'm debt free
Just trying to make up for past mistakes and work towards the future I want :hello:0 -
Well I had a nice time at the pub with my dad even if we were there for a long time! I did end up spending £10 but my dad randomly starting giving me £5 notes so I think I ended up with more money! I must remember to turn off Do Not Disturb at the weekends though as OH had been trying to get hold of me but my phone was in my bag and not going off due to the DND so was in a little trouble over that

My nan has just offered to treat me to bingo today as I paid for her for mothers day, so hopefully I can win some pennies and come out with more money two days in a row :rotfl: happy weekend folks!Just trying to make up for past mistakes and work towards the future I want :hello:0 -
Well bingo with my nan was good came away with £10 extra and was going to save it to put it all into the bank but needed to get the bus home with the snow as opposed to walking (I always walk) so purchased some £1 eye makeup remover pads to have the change for the bus and put £5 in my pot too. So some of the money is saved away at least

I also got today a folder to keep all my finance related paperwork in, as at the moment it's just a mess and I need to keep things a lot more organised as opposed to shoved into drawers or a bag that may or may not currently be hanging off of my wardrobe drawer
Did a cool survey today on PA that involves using a makeup app for a well known makeup brand which was pretty interesting and bagged me £2.50
Got some money to cash out from paypal, some of that will go towards postage for the items I sold but got a small amount of profit left over, will post those Monday.
Quiet night in tonight, will probably spend most of it on here and survey sites to be honest

Is anyone else really tired of the snow?
My street doesn't have humongous amounts, but what has settled on the roads is rather icy, which makes me wonder if my driving lesson is going ahead. It's less than 4 weeks until my test now, so anything that has to get re-arranged, I'm having less and less time to do it. I could do with the lead-up to the test running smoothly
I have organised my paperwork folder this morning so everything has a place, and no more paperwork lying everywhere and getting lost.
Must wrap up warm today I'll be shuffling into town this morning for coffee with OH before he starts work, and I get chilblains that flares up on one of my feet in the cold and didn't wrap them too well yesterday at all
My to do list for today is:
- brave the cold for a coffee with OH
- have a tidy up
- keep an eye out for surveys
- package ebay parcels for posting
Enjoy your Sunday guys! :jJust trying to make up for past mistakes and work towards the future I want :hello:0 -

Happy Monday!
So the dentist has been called up and booked (with no mention of me not going to the hygienist appointment at 3 months) - it's beginning to look like my week off next week is not going to be very relaxing at all :rotfl:
I have a driving lesson on the Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday
I have my dentist checkup followed straight by the hygienist on the Wednesday
I am giving blood on the Sunday morning
And then whatever else life throws at me slotted in around that too :rotfl:
My discount from o2 got applied, they are just taking it from the tariff part of my bill which works out okay as it means for 2 months I won't pay any tariff payment and a smaller amount on the 3rd month.
I'm itching for it to be payday and start putting all my plans into place!Just trying to make up for past mistakes and work towards the future I want :hello:0 -
First day of the working week nearly over and done with!
Requested my cashout from TCB today and managed to get a few surveys done on PA
Annoyingly - excel on my work pc is telling me it cannot open my finances spreadsheet (which is on my onedrive) I'm hoping it's just this pc being awkward and that when I go home to my laptop it will still open okay from there. The actual budget sheets for each month I'm not fussed about I could redo those very easily, but my planning for my DFD was on a tab on there and that took me ages to work out
Driving lesson straight from work at 6pm - there's two ways to leave my work, both involve driving out onto busy dual carriageways ! *gulp*Just trying to make up for past mistakes and work towards the future I want :hello:0 -
Hello *waves*
I did the Prolific make-up survey as well... I looked so ridiculous with everything I did! Not sure that that was the point but was quite funny all the same. Probably the best survey I've had on Prolific in a while!
Reading through your diary you sound very organised (well done on the folder!) which is awesome. I'm very much a shove letters into a drawer type of person. These days I DO at least read the letters before I do the shoving and I have one drawer they all gravitate to so at least I know where everything is :rotfl:
You sound quite similar to me with the dentist. I used to have the actual fear about going and didn't go in about 6 years. I'm quite ashamed about that, but thankfully my teeth were OK and I didn't need any work done. It was pretty terrifying going though so well done!
One of my main goals when I manage to pay off my debt is to learn to drive. I've tried 2 times already and both times I've run out of money. I've passed my theory twice and now it's run out again so going to need to get it for a third time
Plan is before I start to have a fair bit of money set aside. I can't give up on it for a third time! Total Debt : ?? / ??0 -

Hello back!
Yes I quite enjoyed how interactive it was but I felt I looked ridiculous with lots of the items - mostly the lash products :rotfl:
I've been really hit and miss with the dentist over the years before I went 6 months ago it was easily 5 years since I last went, my dad encouraged me to go when I had lost my job as it would be free and the guy was absolutely awful, he was poking and prodding around really uncomfortably and telling me it didn't hurt when it did, i left in tears. Thankfully the dentist I have now she was really nice and took her time and after all those years I only needed one filling and a hygienist visit thankfully I was expecting much worse.
It is stupidly expensive! I've tried once before and had to stop because I couldn't afford to carry on but im lucky to be in a job at the moment where I can just about balance it out. I can't do much else other than my driving lessons as I can't afford it :rotfl: at least with money saved up you could probably block book and save money?
