Ooh okay - I was thinking about doing my petrol on the CC and then paying it straight off or setting the money aside each month and then paying it off so it does show that I'm actually using it, as you get extra points by using the Tesco CC too I believe - will have to look into it all and see what's what

Lunch was good, carvery in about an hour once I'm home from work & changed. I'm looking forward to an early night more than anything :rotfl:Just trying to make up for past mistakes and work towards the future I want :hello:0 -

Well I'll be honest, I am miserable today.
OH had asked ex if I could meet his kids for a few hours tomorrow and she said she would think about it which is the first time she's not said a flat out no, so he was adamant she would say yes and try as I might I couldn't help hoping she would but she's said no this morning so that's put me in a rubbish mood already
Still no replacement cheque from NWest so thought i'd try the original and see if they've cancelled it and just not use the second one if they've even sent a second one, tried to do it on HFax app but NWest cheques don't work apparently so will need to try in branch
Wrote to EE requesting info about if they or someone else owns the debt I owe to them to try and arrange a payment plan from the end of the next month, received a letter saying to call them, so I did and they can do naff all until I go into an EE shop with some ID?! Grr
I'm quite glad I'm home alone tonight as everyone else is either away or on a night out (staff night out where I used to work, kind of feels rubbish when half of our house at home goes out with people I used to see 5 days a week and I get to sit at home by myself) as now it means I can mope around if I want to.
Vague plan of action for today:
- another 1 or 2 questions on coursework module
- watch for surveys
- 30 day shred
- try to cheer up!Just trying to make up for past mistakes and work towards the future I want :hello:0 -
Right I am kicking myself out of this rut.
It is probably worth noting at some point that I referred myself to the NHS well-being service about a week ago. It got recommended to be through my GP at one point as I suffer from really low self esteem and anxiety, but I tend to have a period of time where I feel okay so I don't book it but I have a telephone assessment on Wednesday next week during my lunch break. Not sure how feasible it is to fit in if they can't work around my 8-6 weekday working hours but we shall see what happens.
Anyway, positive things to think about!!
- I will be buying a car on Monday/Tuesday without having had to borrow a penny to do it
- I will also have money left after I have bought it
- I have savings. They are tiny but they have remained untouched for the whole month
- 90% of my transactions from my bank are debt repayments or expected DD's - no silly spending
- Two of my CC's will be clear in the next 2 months
- My skin has calmed down massively now that I have my moisturiser
- I will have completed my HR Level 3 course in the next 6 weeks
- I now have no old debts that aren't repaid or being paid/will start to be paid from next month
- I have made some (small) over-payments this month
- I have some pending money in PA and TCB
Must remain positive!Just trying to make up for past mistakes and work towards the future I want :hello:0 -
I decided not to workout on my lunch break today I decided to march over to EE and she took my ID and said she would record it but that their customer service was down until Monday? Ah well, at least I've got my ID recorded I guess..
Cheque deposited to see if it clears, find out by the 3rd..
Tidied up my signature and will just update my individual totals in a post as & when, so for future reference for myself, it stands at...
CC1: £1410/£1398.90
CC2: £162.29/£162.29
CC3: £132.10/£117.14
Old Debts: £1252.21/£1252.21
Nan/OH Loan: £1135.50/£1135.50
Loan: £1195.20/£1195.20
Overdraft: £534/£534
I do wish I had just added on the new debt to the old total so that anyone dropping by know I have actually paid nearly £1500 since the start of the year but I really cannot be bothered to go back and work it all out
Just trying to make up for past mistakes and work towards the future I want :hello:0 -
A massive well done on the (nearly) £1500!
That's certainly something to feel good about!
Well done on going to EE as well... At least you were proactive about it. It really frustrates me when I get the energy to do something and then it doesn't work out. I usually then end up putting whatever I've tried to do off until about 4 months down the line.
Good news on the telephone assessment as well... I hope you find it helpful and it all works out around your schedule.
Sucks about the ex saying no to meeting the kids, but at least she thought about it this time! Definitely an improvement. Try not to get too disheartened if it's a no a few more times... You'll get there which is the main thing
What a long list of positives by the way  Very impressive!Total Debt : ?? / ??0 -
Hi lonelyrat thanks for the pep talk

The weekend didn't get much better my mum told me on Sunday morning my grandad has been officially diagnosed with dementia, which some people have tutted at me for getting upset over but it's not great to hear. He's not had a great few years health wise anyway so feels like just another thing to worry about. Not proud to say I had quite a few drinks over the weekend as I was feeling rather blue! My brother also broke one of his fingers helping our uncle knock down a wall in a house he has just brought, so not a great weekend overall!
Kind of hoping/praying the bad luck has stopped for now as I am hoping to go and pick up my car today! I am just waiting to hear back about whether today is okay to do so, although I have had to message my friends mum about it (it's hers) as he is useless about being the middle person communicating but I don't know how often she checks facebook, but positive thinking is all I can do!
To do list for today:
- work out final budget for the month
- call EE now that my ID is recorded
- chase my brothers for the money for our mums mothers day present (she's in Australia)
- buy lunch supplies
- do 1 or 2 module questions I have been putting off
- buy car
- drive car round town tonight to get used to it :rotfl:
Happy Monday guys xxJust trying to make up for past mistakes and work towards the future I want :hello:0 -
First update on balances (some won't come out until the 2nd/3rd)
CC1: £1410/£1398.90
CC2: £162.29/£162.29
CC3: £132.10/£117.14
Old Debts: £1252.21/£1242.21
Nan/OH Loan: £1135.50/£1014
Loan: £1195.20/£1095.60
Overdraft: £534/£534
To do:
- Phone NWest to arrange paying off Overdraft monthly
- Adjust savings DD's
Cannot set up a payment for EE yet as they say they have passed it to Lowell and Lowell say they have not received it yet so I just have to sit and wait for a letter..
No car yet.Just trying to make up for past mistakes and work towards the future I want :hello:0 -
Today is the day the universe is going to stop giving me crap luck (I hope!)
Went over to the house yesterday about the car and no one was home except for my friends sister so I left my number and asked for her to tell her parents to get in touch with me and she said they would be home by 8. At around 10 I text my friend and told him he needed to find out what was going on with the car as I needed it ASAP, as I'd made plans for the week to be driving places. Nothing received this morning so I text him again and he said he was sorry his dad was supposed to have gotten in touch some things need repairing (including the exhaust I was going to pay £50 to fix) so they couldn't sell it yet but that it should be getting fixed this week, and he's going to confirm when he gets in at 6 when it's getting fixed.
It made me really angry especially last night when I was sat there not knowing what on earth was going on because they didn't have the decency to get in touch with me. It meant that last night instead of driving my new (to me) car around I was sat indoors. This morning instead of driving to work I walked in, tonight instead of driving up to OH I will be waiting half an hour after work for the train then spending half an hour on the train, etc etc. I am very much a person who gets stressed when plans don't go right.
The only positive there I guess is that I now won't have to take the car to get the exhaust done, so should probably tell them I'm happy to pay the £450 again, but I don't feel inclined to after yesterday. It also means whatever steering thing needs sorting won't have to be sorted by me too.
I need a couple of bits this month like mascara etc so I think I may buy all the small things I need today to keep my NSD's through the month. There's a nice tokyo laundry top I have seen so I may treat myself if I can find a discount code, I need cheering up and I know it's not very MSE but I think one cheap top in the grand scheme of things out of my set allowance isn't the end of the world. My brother also finally gave me the £20 for my birthday so it's not coming out of budget money for the month.
Shopping list:
- Mascara
- Work shoes
- Window trim for car
- birthday cards
To do:
- coursework questions I put off yesterday as I was stressing
- purchase the above
- keep an eye out for surveys
- phone Natwest
- update EF savings SO (pots ones go out tomorrow so will change after that)
*tries really hard to rustle up some PMA*Just trying to make up for past mistakes and work towards the future I want :hello:0
