Where can I try out cross trainers?

Hi,
We’d like to buy a cross trainer but would like to try it before we buy it.
We have a fitness centre nearby but they have no budget cross trainers on show, a few mid range (starting at £700) and lots of high end trainers.
Ideally we’d like to try some of the cheaper trainers (the £100 ones like the XS Sport, and the £500 ones like the JTX Strider-X7) before committing to the more expensive ones.
Where can we try them though?
We went into a big Sports Direct but they didn’t have any, even though they have lots available online. We’re from Gloucestershire and are going to Bristol this week if that helps. Thank you

Hi,
We spent a long time trying to find places where you could try them out, and found very few, John Lewis in Cribbs Causeway have some, but they were quite expensive ones, a department store called Leekes near us had a few towards the cheaper end, but not many, by far the best selection we have found was at Fitness Superstore in Gloucester. They have a good selection of gym equipment, we live in Wiltshire and they have been the best place we have found to go and look at and try stuff before buying, worth the journey for us to get there.
We got a Sole Fitness cross trainier from them about 3 years ago, not cheap, but it is used most days by 2 - 3 members of our family and has been brilliant so money well spent, we also looked at exercise bikes there last year and ended up getting one also by Sole but after deciding which model we wanted we found the same bike refurbished direct fom the manufacturer for a lot less than the shop price, but it was great to be able to go and try it out first.
If you see one you like it is worth looking on the likes of Ebay and searching for refurbished ones, as you may pick up one for a lot less, although transporting it may be difficult as they can be large and very heavy.
The refurbished bike we got was delivered to our home fully completed which was a bonus as when we got the cross trainer, it was delivered but needed putting together which took a lttle while.0
