pension advice for ex pat please

Options
don't know where to start with this one but hopefully someone wise will be able to help.
my dad has lived in holland since 1974 and is recently retired. For a start he doesn't know what his british NI no. is so how would we go about finding out. He then needs to find out whether he would get any state pension from the uk for the 10 years or so that he did work here and then he thinks he might have an old company pension in the uk as well so how would he go about tracking that down

At the moment he is getting something like 65% of the dutch pension but needs to prove what entitlement he has here, if any, or they will stop payment of the dutch pension and ask for the money back. the dutch social security have assumed an entitlement from the uk which is why he is only getting 65%

don't know where to start and he's kind of sprung this on me
TIA

Tel HMRC on 0191 2135000 and the switchboard should be able to put you through to someone re the NI number. On this switchboard he can also get them to put himn through to overseas pension forecasting.
I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.
