Question about acrylic nails

I have my nails done about every 3 weeks, depending on the regrowth. Been having them done since Dec 2016 at the same shop.

I went to have them done on Friday just gone and the girl wanted to do me a new full set for £25 which would involve having them soaked off, but I didn't have time for this as I had another appt to get to. I have been having the same girl for while, but previously just had whoever was available.

She told me you should have them renewed every 3 months and none of the other people in there have ever told me this, I just have the infills done for £15 every time. I refused because I didn't have time and didn't want to pay £25. She got quite huffy with me and agreed to do just the infills. I told her there was nothing wrong with my nails and no-one has ever said that to me before.

Is this right - do you need to renew your acrylic nails every so often? I got the feeling she was just trying to bump up her money, as you pay them individually by cash (chinese shop).

Thanks in advance.

for what purpose? My colleague at work has been having acrylic nails and never has a new full set every so often.

My wife has a new set every few visits, as the acrylic grows out, so continually infilling means you don't have acrylics, just gel polish.

Mine are very rarely taken off, just odd ones replaced at my infills as they dry out and come off.
There again, I pay double what you do, OP, and the only machinery is the drier for the shellac!
