    This is true but Poland is still good value for money. Example: A packet of 20 cigs costs about £ 1.70

    True if you want cigs or booze or indigenous produce...but anything with a western label or designer gear...costs more!!

    Parisien, you are 100% correct.

    When someone refers to a holiday destination being "good value for money" then I interpret that as meaning it's cheaper to eat, drink and smoke than back home.

    Public transport is also good value for money.

    I do agree with you that Poland is not the place to expect bargains for designer goods or Western brands.
