Nokia N800 Internet Tablet - £149.99 - Half Price at Play.com
Just spotted this on Play.com - the cheapest I could find it elsewhere is £239.99 and most places are £300.
Surf the web from your sofa while your other half watches Eastenders!!
Great Xmas present!!!

I looked at one of these for myself a short time ago, and to be honest a much better buy would be the iPod Touch - the browser in that is *far* superior and easier to use than the Nokia.0

It's cheap because Nokia just announced a new model.0
-
its a pre-order too, weird for an old modile0

This is in fact the current model although it's available for £199 direct from Nokia.0

I had the forerunner the N770, which I sold to get an Ipod Touch - however, the touch has some shortcomings in that you can't save images etc (wanted a tubemap with me the other day and after getting it online, couldn't save it)
Both have their place but I think the nokia is far better for browsing, but the touch's interface is sexy....Regards

There is a new model... Just launched at tech shows this month... The n810
This one has a built in full function keyboard (slides out underneath.. Nice)
Plus built in mapping.... but it takes a subscription, for what I can only presume to be a GPS facilty. The 770 and the 800 didn't have this.. Nor the keyboard..
Not sure about other spec differences... Undoubtedly it will be capable of taking more memory.. 10GB I believe.... !
It's the keyboard that is the major diff, though...
Nokia N810
and
Nokia N800
http://www.nseries.com/ (yes it's an offical Nokia site)
There nobody ask another tech question about these things again!..
Bad review of it here though..

300 quid for this one. Not available yet though... Hence the sudden half price of the 800 and the pre order bit.......e.g that's how much that things going for at RRP
As I said about the 770. Once I've got a mobile with wifi on it.. Other than the screen there ain't no advantage to this thing...
May still get an 800 though... Missed out on the 770 offer..
Should I wait again. Though... till my next 12mth/12mth free mobile phone offer has a wifi enabled phone as part of the offer, next year.. Inevitable?
Enjoy...0
