Mortgage after bankruptcy

Hi all!

Has anyone had a successful mortgage application after being a discharged bankrupt of 5/6 years please??

    Not me, no.

    I'm sure there will be some people along to share their experiences, probably more if you'd posted it on the 'Bankruptcy & Living With It' thread...

    However, there are at least two lenders I know which allow you to answer "no" to the bankruptcy question if it was registered more than six years ago.

    Presumably that means your 5-6 years post-discharge is covered?

    3 years discharged and you will have some options at normal rates.
    5 years discharged you will have a few more options.
    6 years discharged you should have almost the full market available to you.

    Although, fitting criteria and getting accepted are very different. Some lenders are more forgiving than others.
