No winners announced

Options
Is there anything that can be done when an instagram or facebook competition does not announce a winner? An instagram competition said they would announce the winner Monday and lots of people are asking "who won"? When I messaged the company they said it was announced on the post but it is not there. When I asked again they have blocked me! They are now running another competition for £1000 worth of "goodies". Is there any way of reporting them....trading standards? ?

They are required to make major prize winners details available, they can choose to make you send in a SAE but they must give the details -

    8.28.5
Promoters must either publish or make available on request the name and county of major prizewinners and, if applicable, their winning entries except in the limited circumstances where promoters are subject to a legal requirement never to publish such information. Promoters must obtain consent to such publicity from all competition entrants at the time of entry. Prizewinners must not be compromised by the publication of excessive personal information

    Complaints to the ASA

  • I used the ASA for a really similar situation. I won a little bottle of facecream - nothing major but it never came and then they ran more competitions. I contacted the ASA on principle. I had all the correspondence between us.

If you are able to provide transcripts of emails or any correspondence between you - or have someone else on Instagram screenshot the previous competition with no winner and the new one then that will really help.
Why do mice have such small balls?
Because so few of them can dance.

Sometimes with FB they just reply to a winners comment, switching the view from "Top Comments" to "Most Recent" often makes it easier to spot if they have done it that way.

some instagram ones announce via the stories too so you don't always see it if it's not within the 24 hours they've posted it. x
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Or sometimes they message them directly (it will say under their comment)
