This is an !!!8220;over the garden fence!!!8221; type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It!!!8217;s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we!!!8217;re going to do today or what we!!!8217;ve achieved already. Everyone!!!8217;s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn!!!8217;t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don!!!8217;t post large pictures, or clip art !!!8211; links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don!!!8217;t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Good morning all. At the airport. Seriously early start exacerbated dropping my passport in the taxi when I got out to get cash.
Thankfully I!!!8217;d put the taxi number in my phone or we!!!8217;d have been cancelling our second holiday. Great relief all round. A good reason to arrive in plenty of time.
Have a great day everyone.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -
Morning and safe journey FBO
It is still dark and feels damp and chilly so I've put the heating on at a low level. Washing machine has just finished the first load of the weekend.
DS has, we think, arrived safely, he Skyped photos of the in flight menu (posh!) But the I'm Safely Arrived text has not materialised.
I have a tidy house, tidy for us, that is, and no work until Wednesday.
Looking back on yesterday's posts, it seems everyone has had to have a new password, thought it was just me.
Hope everyone has a good dayI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning Everyone,
Thanks for starting us off FurryBeastOz. Glad you got your passport back. Have a lovely holiday too.
Still dark outside and it feels cold.
Today I will be making my OH's birthday cake. I left the fruit soaking in brandy overnight - so will make the cake today - OH will be 65 in a few weeks time. I will ice the cake nearer to his b/day.
Weekly trip to check Moms house. Not much else going on. Saturday nights telly will entertain me this evening. Also on a Saturday is wine and crisp night.

Morning everyone
FBO - thanks for starting us off x
Still something going on with the website as like many of you yesterday I couldn't log in, and had to reset my password, hoping it's sorted now.
Now light, cold and frosty.
Hugs to those that want/need one x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
DH and I enjoying first peaceful cuppas, I've just had my brekkie and am waiting for the WM to finish so I can go and get a shower. All being well the heating engineer is coming today to install our new boiler, we're just fed up of the old boiler working as and when it decides and me continually needing to re-set it etc, it's 10-12 years old and they don't manufacture it anymore, so spares are becoming a problem, so we decided a new boiler was an expense but a necessary one.
Dinner last night was a lovely chicken korma, rice, and accompaniments, naan and poppadums, enjoyed by us all and I got the quantities right, so everyone had enough without there being too much leftover, DH said how much he enjoyed it, a win as he can be so awkward about food at times. Tonight dinner will be pizza, chips, salad etc unless I think of something else. We'll be watching the rugby of course.
I did get the ironing done, and the dirty wash basket empty, apart from changing our bed, so that bed linen needs washing, but that can be done later today - once boiler is sorted.
Keep safe and well x

Morning folks and thanks FBO. Safe journey. It sounds as if this w/e is going to be a stinker with all weathers getting thrown at us - except sun! The wind has got up already by the sound of it.
I want to get the bus into town this morning. I need some more cooking bacon or soup making will be at a standstill. (Mr TA likes his pea and ham!) I got an enormous pack last time from Fultons. It was so lean without a bit of fat. It would be nice if it was like that again!
Other than that not a lot is planned for today. I might make a start on the Toys R Us bedroom and see what I can get rid of. For a start there are dozens of kids' videos and we don't even have a video player!
I have got some ys diced chicken out to thaw as I thought I might make a curry for tonight. Not had one in a while and, whilst sorting out the upright, I spotted some ys Naans which I got in M & S for a pittance. So they got pulled out too.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) as always for the poorlies, carers, sad, worried or lonely. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Morning everyone
I’m glad I’m not the only one with large food stocks Nelski. I have two freezers Specky, a chest one in the outhouse and a fridge/freezer in the kitchen.
Sorry to read that you were not any better yesterday nannywindow.
Maddiemay I’m pleased that you had a good time at the lunch.
I’m having a, I can’t decide what to do today day. I should do some housework, and as is often the case, I really need to paint the one wall in the entrance hall that I constantly rub my shopping bags along when I come home.
I expect that I will end up doing some housework, getting fed up with that and end up reading/watching some tv. It seems to have become the usual Saturday routine lately. At least spring is around the corner and I will be able to get out more.
I hope that you all have a good day whatever you are doing.0 -
Morning all. There's a light covering of snow here,I don't know if we'll get more.
I wasn't out at all yesterday, apart from last night when I went to a friends. Will be going out for a bit of shopping today.
I needed to reset my password yesterday, it sounds like everyone did
Hope you have a great holiday FBO.
Speky, sounds as if your trip to London went well.
Not a lot going on today here, but thoughts go to all the poorly and worried people
Take care folks

Morning everyone and thanks for the thread FBO, hope you have a great holiday.
Feel like a wet rag this morning, my tendonitis was so painful in the night had to get up for a couple of hours, only up now as DOH is off to the footie for the day so wanted to have breakfast with him, every intention of going back to bed once he's gone.
It's very cold here today with a pale, wintry sky, will need to go out for some fresh bread at some point but other than that nothing needs doing so think it's a day for the sofa and a good book.
Re freezers, I no longer keep a 2nd one going, the one I have is big enough for veggies, fruit and bread etc plus soup and a few portions of HM ready meals and I find, with meal planning, that is enough for me now.
Right, time to get on, enjoy your Saturday folks x0
