Options
Instruct a Valuer as a matter of course or only if we've passed the initial credit checks?

    just wait for the offer or decline, not much you can do or speculate now

  • When was your application? Surely initial credit checks are done very quickly?
    Our Natwest mortgage was approved within 4/5 days subject to valuation but unfortunately that took 10 days for an appointment and a further 2/3 days for a confirmation/offer. We had a very simple application less than 50% LTV, less than twice our household wage and no debt or bad credit. Still felt like an eternity tho!

    Application being submitted today, more that I was being curious really! !!!128516;
  • We had a credit check at the DIP Stage (via a broker) then again iirc at application stage, and our valuation was booked within 3 hours of that.

    I think most people seem to say with NatWest that if it's an instant pass at that stage (rather than a refer) then they book the valuation right away so it doesn't hold up the underwriting.

    We completed 2 weeks ago and used NatWest, found them very quick and decent.

    Good luck
  • I think the instruct a valuation straight away regardless to speed up process, they will refund if you fail due to affordability or credit scoring... heres a Link
