Well ive kinda fallen off the wagon (everybody does ot once at least!) Today I got my new credit report and the 2 scottish power defaults have gone!! I am so happy. they were worth £2500 apparently for 3 months leccy and gas in a 2 bed terraced house in 2011! Just got another 2 to drop off in december then im sorted!

Ive decided not to accept the right to acquire for now. with my credit report im just not in a position to be paying a broker and higher interest mortgage. I'll be better doing it after december.

Ive opened a credit union and put £15 a week into that so thats £600 for xmas. Ive also opened my htb isa and put the £1200 into that.

I am not able to work full time yet. i really wanted to but it was too much pressure on myself and i was having anxiety attacks. im having 2 weeks off to finish my uni work then will get back to earning more.

I need to start the money diary again. ive spent a fortune on pub dinners takeaways and fast food the last couple of months. not to mention the weight ive gained doing it.

so.. plan at the minute. decline right to acquire... pass this msc.... get back to work.. save £200 a month in htb isa and £60 a month in credit union... bills r all on top of now so thats good... could do with changing broadband supplier and also paying car tax in advance rather than monthly to reduce outgoings... and lose at least a stone preferably 2.

Target: aim for £12,000 saved this time next year (got £3000 now) and look for house on the nice side of the road for less than £120,000

    hello diary!
well ive finally finished the first half on my MSc!!! Its taken me a week to get over it and now im booked into work tomorrow night going to wean myself back into work then get that bank balance increasing!!!

upto now i have £5000 in current account
    £500 in htb isa
    £125 in credit union.
no credit card, catalogue or overdraft debt and just 2 old bills I'm paying off at £50 a month.

I have literally just written the letter declining the right to acquire this house so that will be in the post today; ive sorted all my training out for work so need to get back into the swing of things.

got an extremely busy summer planned but hopefully wont eat into what ive saved too much. i gave up coffee about 3 weeks ago! that was a difficult week. the headaches were awful bit im so glad ive done it. that was costing me a fortune.

i havent kept my spreadsheets up to date but will be once the summer is out of the way. I aim to have a couple of quid more each tuesday than i did the previous.

Oooh my debt free diary!!! Over the last 4 month the proverbial has hit the fan and my plans for home ownership have gone to pot a little... anyway a little financial update.
    Debts
    Ccj £1537
    H&M £231 (default drops off 9/2/18)
Orange £345 (default drops off 21/12/18)
    Bursary overpayment £150
Total= £2263 so debt down by £732 since starting the thread

    Savings= £900 htb isa
    £347 credit union
    Bank accounts +£320 above overdraft
    =£1567 cash

Soooo.... I’m approx £2299 better off than the start of the thread but am in no position to be buying anything at the minute. I need to do an updated soa as my income has also changed massively.

I’m hoping once Xmas is over I can get back to work and saving and by next summer have £7-10,000 saved as a deposit for a mortgage. We are lucky we live in Liverpool where house prices are relatively cheap. The right to acquire didn’t work out. They overpriced it to make up for the discount but everything happens for a reason.

Fingers crossed life gets easier soon and I can get back to money saving!!!

Ok... so my debts down from a starting £2995 to £1842 and the orange default should drop off the end of this month!!!
    £345 Orange
    £1397 Very Ccj
    £100 bursary overpayment.

I've gone from 6 defaults down to 2 and soon to be 1. I've managed to stay out of my overdraft and only owe £100 credit card which will be paid in full at the end of the month. All I need to do now is get back on the saving bandwagon and I'll be able to get a mortgage this time next year.

I'm quite pleased with myself as I've had the worst year ever but stayed on top of the finances despite everything. Fingers crossed for a better 2019.

Well.... I'm down to 1 default which is my ccj- the default date is August 2013 but ccj was July 2015 so not sure when that will drop off. I've paid £1000 off it just over £1000 left now. All my other debts are cleared thank goodness! Savings not going too well but we've had a new car a week before Xmas and that'll all be straightened out by the end of the month. Was looking at my spreadsheet before and I had got to +£4000 at one point but now I'm down to about £500 but essentially debt free so it's all odds and sods but we have bought a caravan and had lots of weekends away and been to France and not gone without anything so we did spend the money wisely. I got my 1 year award the other day! Fingers crossed for my 2 year badge I'll be richer

I'm back on the dfw bandwagon! I called Lowell yesterday about the ccj and now I have the online account set up so I can pay extra bits and bobs off as and when I can.

From what I can see online. Barclays would give me a mortgage with a ccj as long as it's over 3 years and settled so I'll be 4 and settled in August hopefully. Ill have no defaults either.

There's a house for sale on next street to me for £89k it has 4 bedrooms and a bigger garden so I'd love to go for that if it's still for sale at the end of the year although prices are rising fast here now. I'm hoping brexit lowers them again!

Just looking at my income. Now its about 550 a week and can earn more as and when I want. I need to get back to putting into the htb isa. There's still £900 in it from last year. I owe just short of £200 to the credit union then that's getting shut down. It done my head in as they're presented as being for those less well off but the interest is extortionate. I'm paying £4 A week on £200 I could have used my overdraft for cheaper.
