Survey when remortgaging?

Just wondering if it's required to get a new survey done when I'm remortgaging?

If so, why on mortgage comparison sites do they not take into account the cost of the survey which each lender offers? I mean I've just checked a few different providers, and their homebuyer's surveys vary in cost from £200-£600.

If any survey is required by the lender it would be a basic mortgage valuation, not a homebuyer's survey. And not all will even require that (or require you to pay for it).
