2nd question of the day.
Remortgaging from Nationwide to HSBC. My H and I both pay childcare pre tax, listed as a pre tax deduction on our payslips.
4 years ago Nationwide catergorically refused to allow us to use any figure on the application other than the billed figure, despite is being clear it was a pre tax deduction!l from out playslips.
Is this common? Over 2 children it saves makes us £500 better off per month. We’ve used the billed figure and the DIP is for more than we need but I’m curious.
Any thoughts?

An internal policy of 4 years ago could change overnight. From April 2018 pre tax deductions cease. Other than for established existing schemes which can continue.0
