WARNING Re: Kays (and any other GUS catalogue that's recently changed systems)

Please be aware if you have any items ordered under the old system, on longer than 20 week terms, and that haven't been charged until the new system, then you need to chase the 'old accounts' department (not sure if that's the right name, but it gets you from General Enquiries to someone who knows what they're doing). This is the freephone number - 0800 068 4968
What's happening is that these items are automatically dropping onto 20 week payment terms when they move from the old system to the new.
They have to manually be put on the correct terms, otherwise you'll end up paying over 20 weeks. If it was an interest-bearing item, then the interest is already in your total, and you will still be paying the interest you would have over the extended terms, without the benefit of those terms.
This needs doing for each item, and cannot be done until the item has been charged. There was a Pay February code came out just before the changeover, so you need to keep this in mind right up until then.
Also, please be aware that unless you can plead poverty, they won't change the payment for the current statement, they'll just let the system sort it out on the next one, so you'll have at least one inflated payment to cover.
So, if your payments have been higher than expected since an old item was added, then this probably explains it (it's how I picked up on it - and it's taken 3 phone calls this morning to get it sorted).
I hope I've explained this ok (let me know if not)

You leave your footprints all around the sun

You just keep on walking0
