Guys- I need your help please!
Making for my son (who's 2 and a bit) and nephew (who's 3 and a bit) a crafty type hamper/ box for Christmas and need some help to fill it- obviously not too expensive as its just little extra present.
I have things like:
Cheap Paints
Paper
Paint brushes
pens and all the other obvious stuff
but I was thinking of things to put in it for when you are clawing the walls and need to do something that helps develop them, that is fun and cheap such as making jigsaws out of old pictures of their favourite characters?
What can anyone else with or without children suggest?
Not so worried about mine but nephew's one needs to look good as though I've really done something with it!
Thanks again all x

if u use a large box, u can add junk modelling equipment, such as toilet rolls, empty boxes, plastic bottles, caps, foils, and scrap paper.
it helps their creative development, fine motor skills and individuality. i find that kids often go into their own world when junk modelling - so nice and peaceful 2!
alternatively, how about a scrapbook, especially for the 3 year old.
put in a box of photos of your nephew and all immediate family, and let him create his own special memory book
HTH!A good friend can tell you what is the matter with you in a minute ...:A0 -
Tescos have pink scrapbook with stickers for 25p at the moment.
I'd add lots of odd bits and pieces as victoriajayne mentioned....odd socks/gloves for puppets, stickers, old cds, small boxes etc.
Poundland have lots of things too.0 -

Hows about some dough. I dont know the quantities, but you can make it with flour, a little oil and some food colouring. And maybe some little cutters from somewhere like Wilko. (Wrap in cling film) Messy, but fun!0

Dont know if you have a Wilkinsons near by but mine had craft things going with 75% off making them about 25p each, i got 6 huge colouring pencils, they also had chalks, ordinary pencils, big huge stampers and paints.
What about putting some pasta and glue in the box i know its strange but kids love to make collages with it dont they.

I work as a teaching assistant in Foundation (4/5yrs) and one thing that they all really love is my glitter sand. I just put about an inch of play sand in a tray and add coloured glitter to it and they love to write their names in it, make shapes etc. You could get them to have a go at copying simple numbers and letters. Good luck anyway.0
