MRI Scan on knee

Anyone had one.
How far into scanner did you go and how long did it take.

well last year I had my head and back done and I went all the way into the tube, but if it's just your knee, perhaps you could go in feet first so that only your legs are in the tube? Not sure really......

I expect someone out there must have had a knee scan.

I had my right knee MRI scanned in June this year. My body went into the scanner basically up to my nose so, being laid on my back I was just looking outside the scanner. I have no idea whether height makes any difference but I'm 5ft 3. My scan took about 30mins. You don't say why you are having it but if you get pain in your knee or have difficulty straightening it take your analgesics first. My knee was placed in a foam rest but strapped down. At that time because of my injury my leg didn't go straight so it was agony.

i too had my knee done. i had a rMRI so not sure of the difference between rMRI and MRI, but they strapped my knee down and i went in feet first. my head was outside the machine looking up at the outside of the machine.
i wore headphones listening to the radio. it took 45 minutes, but i had both knees done on the same day so 2 hrs total, as i had a loo break in between and they let me walk about as my legs were very stiff after as i was very paranoid about moving.
ps the machine is very loud, lots of bangs and clicks.

Same for me too - I can't remember how far I was actually in, but my head was definitely outside. They let me bring my own cd in as well or I could have listened to the radio on headphones. Took about 45 mins and you have to keep still throughout - pretty bad if you're a fidget like me.

Pleased to know my head will be outside the scanner.
Never knew it would take so long, 30-45 mins.
I am around 5ft 1ins, just thinking at that height maybe I will be inside the scanner.
