Student Loan Overpayment Error
Student loan company say they overpaid me too much grant in my second year of study at university. My parents income did not change throughout my 1st and 2nd year of study, yet they say that in my second year I was paid £3000 too much - but are happy with paying me that amount in my first year.
In my first year I was paid £2431, and in my second year £3387, yet this was reassessed to £456 despite my parents being on the same amount of money as first year. The big point here is that in my third year (when my parents did earn more) I was awarded the exact same as my year 2 reassessment - £456. The error made here is that my parents income in my third year was used to reassess my second year, which does not make sense as they did not have that money in my second year and so I could not benefit in anyway.
I would be grateful if someone could tell me of any similar experiences and if I have a case to fight this? And if so what people recommend as my next stages with this?
