  • Hi Diary
Doing OK with money. Not spent on anything not needed.
Husbands car needs to go in for a check tomorrow as the maintaince light is on and is loosing power. . . Hope it's not expensive!
Have a £20 gift voucher for big chain restaurant as we went with in-laws last week (they paid as a thank you to DH for a big job he helped them with, they wouldn't take no for an answer) and there was an issue with my meal so DH complained. Will be nice to use next week with little one.

I must admit I did buy a puddleduck door stop which was so cute £9. Looks lush in the kitchen.

Nothing else to report. Done the ironing, some tidying away. Having a cuppa whilst little one plays then bed time stories.
  • Bad news the car's turbo has broken and will cost £1100 !! Thank god for parents as we wouldn't have a clue how to pay this. DH will do a few over times once school is back to pay back as quick as we can.

    What else can go wrong?
  • Negitive
Glad this week is over. I'm normally a positive, happy person but this week has been a challenge. I'm tired! Not sleeping because of a niggling running/yoga injury which is waking me up at night. Guilt feeling as DH is home with little one and having so much fun whilst I work (silly I know), Period is due anytime soon and money is tight.

    Positive
House/garden/village is lovely (not sure it's worth all the stress and debt mind)
    Family is happy and healthy

Tomorrow is a different day and will be more positive I promise.

  • This niggling throbbing in my leg is getting on my nerves!!!

Had a text saying my delivery of school uniform will be coming this morning. All from George at as**. So will just need school bag, lunch box, water bottles, shoes and socks, will get these next pay day.

PA surveys are really quiet arn't they. I normally manage at least £20 a month. I have £8 and there has been nothing for ages. School holidays I think.

Not sure what today has planned.

  • What a lovely day today. Family time down the beach. We are so lucky that we live a 5 minute drive to a gorgeous quiet beach. Free day as there is no shops or even an ice cream van there. It was lovely. Swam in the sea, sandcastles, rock pools, sea breeze coming in, little one loved it . . .perfect! We really should do it more as it's right on our doorstep.

Home now, washing on, all showered and fed. DH has fallen asleep on the settee and little one is playing in her bedroom. I'm going to Google stomach exercises!!! I'm sort of fit. . . . I run, do the occasional yoga but my belly is really flabby. I'm not big. My BMI is 23 which is normal for my age and weight. I need to tone up!!! Any ideas guys would be helpful.

Will need to iron my work uniform later and have a general tidy up of all the toys hanging around. There's toys in every room of the house.

    Catch up later

  • OK so had a good discussion with DH and as the Tesco loan is an extension of the mortgage. When we moved instead of getting a new mortgage as ours was very very good we got this cheap loan. So we are not going to add it to our debt but instead will treat it as it is . . . Mortgage. We have a mortgage of £76000 and a house worth £235000 so we will change our mortgage to £92000ish on our records. So not all bad.

So our debt now doesn't seem that bad now. Which I think will help us bring it down quicker and not worry as much.

    £6,393 (3% loan)
    £5,100 parent loan
    £1,900 overdraft

    Total £13,393

That looks a lot better and easier to deal with.

The parent .on has gone up as DH car cost £1200 to fix so thankfully they helped us out. We want to pay it back quickly so DH will do some overtime.

Off to watch Doc martin now.

  • I did a long post yesterday but something happened and I lost it all. Ahhh!!!

DH had a good pay this month (overtime) and £600 went to his parents. I know it's interest free but he is adamant he wants to pay it ASAP even though they have told him numerous times to take his time.

    Debt is going down nicely.

    Loan £6230
    Parental loan £4300
    overdraft £1500

    Total £12,030

I know we still have the overdraft but we are looking at decreasing that considerably this month.

We had an estate agent around to value the house now all the work is nearly finished. She valued it as £260,000 which we are really pleased with. It's in a desirable little village which has put it up . We have £75,000 (£93,000 as we are counting the big loan as we used it on the mortgage) left of the mortgage so we are doing OK really.

    Back to it........speak later
