2020 Brides?

Options
We're planning to get married on 08.07.2020
We've only just started saving for it so only have £208 in the bank and £42.44 in a savings jar for it.

We have most of the ideas down on paper but haven't booked anything. We don't know about venues yet or how to plan anything officially really....

Only today I decided who my bride crew officially is.

I never thought I'd ever get married so unsure of what steps to take now.

    Congratulations :)

2020 should give you ample time to plan! July is peak wedding season so you might find that venues are already getting booked for 2020 and I'd try to book that fairly early if you can. Photographer too, if that's important to you.

Have you decided what kind of wedding you want? Big/small, indoors/outdoors etc? Do you know what kind of venue you might like?

We found that wedding fairs were a great way of scouting out venues without feeling the pressure of appointments. Most wedding fairs start in the spring so it's a good time of year to be planning those. You'll also meet other vendors and we tended to pick up a contact or idea from each one we went to.

Also enter EVERY competition - you never know what you'll win! We won an engagement photo shoot and whilst we didn't go with that photographer (she wasn't local, and we specifically wanted a team of 2) we enjoyed the experience and got a couple of lovely photos.

We kind of went about things the wrong way in so much as we decided what we wanted then found out how much it would cost, rather than setting a figure and seeing what that would get us. We then compromised on the smaller/less important (to us) things. It's worked out though! We get married on the 30th March so I'm feeling the pressure now :rotfl:
  • Congrats to you too.

Somewhere chilled but also fancy like a manor house. I found one I like online ... Walton Park Hotel as it's by a beach/sea/cliff side.

Navy blue and red as a comic book is our theme... We have to have somewhere inside and outside.

I'm waiting on the hubs 2 be for approval before I enquire. He doesn't seem bothered at all about wedding planning.

I've upped the budget by another £5,000 as I don't think having a £5,000 wedding is realistic for what we want and to factor in travel etc.
