Halifax late mortgage payment

I am having the same issue, I wonder if Halifax were able to remove that from your file?

The lesson here is that if you miss a payment , you need to take action straight away. Be it a mortgage or credit card payment. The fact that they were taking it ten days later, doesn't stop it being late recorded!

You could try a complaint that you were not made aware of the impact upon your credit record, but that is unlikely to be accepted as its not their fault. Their T and Cs will explain they report to the CRAs.

Going forward, most accounts work on a monthly cycle. Maybe you can ask Halifax to bring your payment forward by 10 days in future. That way, if you miss, it will still be collected within the same month. Most banks give a grace period. For example a Halifax credit card, wont mark you as late (if you miss the due date), provided they receive clear funds by the statement date. Thus giving you a few days grace.
