not so much a freebie to all but thought some people may be able to save a few quid. The other day my sky+ box wouldnt receive a signal, not being able to receive the signal I phoned them up asking them to sort it out, they took me through steps with the remote but I still received no signal, this resulted in being passed onto a manager who told me that my sky box was broke and as my warrenty had ran out it would cost me £65 to get it replaced. After arguing that this was not acceptable he told me that i would still have to pay the £65. To this i replied "cancel the subscription and i'll give virgin a call" as soon as i said this he replied "OK we will be out in two days and the box will be fitted free of charge"

So if your sky box breaks argue then threaten to cancel it work for me :j

Yes this is the normal tactics to get another box, go to the sky section on the site, it will blow your socks off

My Sister Has The Full Package With Sky On Sky+ And Pays Only £16 As She Said She Was Gonna Use Ntl/virgin Instead, So They Upgraded Her For Nowt

Yep, Had the same thing ourselves. New/replacement box fited and delivered free.

Mind it does 'work' for them - we had been meaning to cancel as the quality of programmes has been getting worse and worse - but we still haven't...

ooh sounds interesting, im due to end contract in dec but i want the sky plus box but they said i will be charged 130.00 any tips? should i threaten to go to virgin?

i use this forum, the sky+ section, find it very good and informative, not just for sky,
and to crystal9 i believe sky+ is coming down to £49.00 plus £30 install for existing customers

I managed to get sky plus for £49 including installation after i had a faulty box and refused the call out fee.

Maybe you could lie and say that you have a faulty box?
