  • Not promoting, it doesn't even exist. Asking if it's something people would consider using.

Hey! This is all so lovely to read, I'm glad that more and more people are getting involved with the zero waste lifestyle. I know that its been coming for a while now, so with more and more news about plastic being found in animals' bodies etc. I'm so happy its finally getting real traffic.
Personally, I beieve that businesses should also get involved in Zero Waste Refills which is an initiative honed by a company named Bury Wholefoods whereby one purchases reusable jars/containers and has them refilled when required. It's a nice way of developing a community too, in my opinion!
    Let me know your opinions?

I noticed the big problem with plastic many years ago when I took up snorkelling about twenty years after I had last done it and scuba diving. The number of plastic bags I found on the sea bed and caught up in seaweed had increased very noticeable over the 20 years I had not been snorkelling. Since then I have always reduced using plastic bags and reuse plastic good as much as possible even before they put the charge on plastic bags.

The problem with plastic is that it does not rot and when it is thrown away by littering or illegal fly dumping it hangs around for decades. It can be recycled or burned and hence be used as an alternative to oil, coal or gas to produce electricity. Perhaps we should concentrate on clamping down or littering as the most effective way of reducing the damage that plastic is doing. Yes avoiding plastic packaging will help a little, but it is not the people who buy plastic and put it in the recycling bin which cause the problem but people who just throw it away.
  • Hi everyone! I wanted to drop in and recommend some zero waste coffee capsules I've been using. I have a Nespresso machine but wanted a no waste capsule and discovered Novell Coffee's compostables - they have a caffeinated and decaffeinated selection and both are delicious!
