They have a chat forum and a lot of Eglu owners have rescued battery hens and chat about them.
On the home page on the left there is a link to the newsletter. Click on it and read down till near the end. There is a link to the forum for guests to read and join in the chat.
A really friendly chicken keeping bunch, but I know that there is a thread on the Battery Hens.

    Hope that helps

OK - we're picking up our 3 girls on the 1st of April!!!!! :D:D:D

I need to get a feeder and waterer sorted out. Is it possible to make a feeder? They seem to be just an upturned container raised above a plate. Or am I missing something?

    Thanks!

    Hi everyone

Well this is the first summer I have had my chickens and the flies, which seem to be having a party around the run, are driving me crazy !!! Any idea how I can get rid of them without causing the chickens or my 2 small children any harm ? I would prefer not to use any chemicals.

    Many thanks,
    Bek

Hi, I have been carried away with the idea of keeping chickens, I have really done my homework on what they will need, planned out where they will go in the garden, and have just read in my deeds that "no keeping of poultry"

My house is 30 years old and the house builder went bust in the 1980's. Do you think I need to make an issue about this? who should I ask for permission.

I called the local council this morning and they say no problem, just to check my deeds.

    What do you think?
