Hi,
We went bankrupt in 2013 and will be 4 years discharged this summer. We have found a house that we want to move to and are currently trying to make sure out credit file is cleaned up - we have written to the appropriate people and are awaiting for some default dates to be changed. We are hoping to apply for a mortgage as soon as this is sorted.
Does anyone have any experience in obtaining a help to buy mortgage post bankruptcy? And if so, who with please??
Any advice would be much appreciated please.
Thanks

The dates on your bankruptcy, will restrict your lender options, but with the support of a good broker, then you should be fine.I am a Mortgage Broker.

Do you know of any mortgage lenders that do the help to buy, particularly to ex bankrupts?

brokers on here are not allowed to name lenders for regulatory reasons.
Engage a broker as your circumstances are different from everyone else, they will give you a personalized advice"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

Very tricky request.
Your post suggest that the 2014 problems were not the end of it.
You need to engage a mortgage broker, and one that is good with Help to Buy and Poor Credit.I am a Mortgage Broker

Ok thank you.
If there is anybody who has personally been through this and can name any lenders, I would appreciate it. Of course, I know this is a general mortgage forum and there’s not likely to be many people.
Thanks,

Brokers who deal in adverse credit are not free, You could try the free ones like L+C but you may not get the service you want from a free service.
One lender for one person does not mean it will be suitable for you, your circumstances maybe entirely different as well."It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

We are currently cleaning up our credit file, getting all our default dates changed to the date of bankruptcy so no, no problems after 2013. Thanks for your replies.
