joint application- does it effect my credit score?

Hi
I live with my partner and the mortgage has always been in my name due to her bad credit history although she does contribute to the mortgage itself.
When remortgaging, If I looked at quotes with both is us on the mortgage we might be able to borrow more but it could mean a more expensive rate and then not viable.
If I have a history of us looking into this then deciding to stick with a single application, will my application be effected by the previous search?
Thanks

If you do any credit checks jointly, then you would become financially associated. You can remove that association but it can take a couple of weeks.
There is no need to do any credit checks to get an idea of rates available. You can either do the research online yourself or speak to a broker.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Thanks - with her bad credit history it might mean higher rates than generally advertised. Maybe it won’t.
How do you remove a financial link? I’m assuming we’re nit linked already even though we live together - we have separate banks and bills etcScoops0 -
